I published a post recently about my goals for 2016. There is a lot on there, which means that there is a lot to manage. I purchased Leo Babauta's Zen to Done in an effort to manage all of the work through habit formation. Yesterday was my first attempt to accomplish all of my MITs (Most Important Tasks). Let me say, by the end of the day I was exhausted and happy to go to bed early.
What I accomplished yesterday, 12/28/2015
- Got up at 5:30AM
- Jumped rope for 5 minutes
- Completed nearly 2 rounds of the Week 1 Session 1 TBR Weight Lifting workout
- My butt started seizing (the muscle at the top of the buttocks) halfway through the reps for the second round of the last exercise. I decided I'd better stop before I hurt myself!
- 1 mile walk around 10:30AM to break up the work day
- 1 mile walk around 3:30PM to break up the work day
- 1 mile walk after dinner with Aaron and the puppy
- Watched a SSFU course lesson with Aaron.
- Did a 20 minute Pilates Bootcamp video
- I was really disappointed. I bought the video 2 or 3 years ago and thought it would be floor pilates. NOPE! It was like an aerobics workout. Definitely not what I wanted to do. I finished it anyhow, because I said I would, but that video is getting donated.
Food Journal 12/28/2015
Breakfast:
- Yogurt
- coffee
- Bagel sandwich with egg, bacon, cheese and schmear
Lunch:
- Leftover basmati rice and roasted vegetables
Dinner:
- Sushi
Observations
I cannot believe the sense of accomplishment I felt by the end of the day. I was also very tired by about 8:30PM and ready to go to bed.
We still need to tweak our preparation for food, since we are scrambling to get dinner and some lunches prepared. Our goal is to only eat out once a month, which means planning is necessary.

Fixes
- Focus on menu planning and daily preparation of food - look ahead to ensure next day's meals are covered.
